Who we are
Beltrow is a bounded-decision commerce site that helps you choose products through curated quartets of four serious options. The site is operated as a personal project. Our address for privacy inquiries is published on our home page.
What data we collect
Essential storage (no consent required)
- Theme preference – we store your light/dark mode choice in your browser’s localStorage (
beltrow-theme). This is strictly necessary for the site to respect your display preference. - Session state – we use sessionStorage (
beltrow-pending-route) to remember which product you were viewing when navigating to a retailer. This data is cleared when you close the tab. - Consent preference – we store your cookie consent choice in localStorage (
beltrow-consent) so we don’t ask again.
Analytics (only with your consent)
- Outbound click tracking – when you click a “View on” button, we send an anonymous beacon to our server recording which product category and offer was clicked. This contains no personal data, no IP address logging, and no cross-site tracking. This only happens if you click “Accept” on the consent banner.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics – if enabled, Cloudflare’s privacy-first analytics collects anonymous page view data. Cloudflare does not use cookies for this service and does not track users across sites. This only loads if you consent.
Cookies
Beltrow itself does not set any cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set infrastructure cookies (such as __cf_bm) for bot protection. These are strictly necessary and exempt from consent requirements under EU ePrivacy regulations.
Affiliate links
Product links on Beltrow are affiliate links to Amazon UK (using the Amazon Associates programme, tag: btganyo03-21). When you click a product link and visit Amazon, Amazon’s own privacy policy and cookie practices apply. Beltrow does not receive any personal data about your Amazon activity – only whether a qualifying purchase was made.

Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA/UK, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you (we hold none).
- Withdraw consent for analytics at any time by clearing your browser’s localStorage or clicking “Reject” on the consent banner (clear
beltrow-consentfrom localStorage to see it again). - Erasure – since we store no personal data server-side, there is nothing to erase. All data is in your browser and under your control.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Data retention
We do not store personal data on our servers. Browser localStorage persists until you clear it. Anonymous outbound click analytics are aggregated and contain no identifiers.
Children
Beltrow is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
